Tell Congress: Don't Let Transportation Funding Run Dry!

Terry,

Time is running out for Congress to pass real, long-term transportation funding. With the Highway Trust Fund and Mass Transit Account set to run dry again on July 31, we need Congress to act NOW.

To strengthen America’s public transit, Congress must act before these funds run out. Together, we can make Congress pass long-term, comprehensive transportation legislation.

But to do that, we have to make Congress understand that it’s unacceptable to let transportation funding run out and they must focus on long-term increased investment in public transit this year.

Even if you’ve written before, please consider sending a quick message to Congress today. Every email we send our Members of Congress helps drive our message home that America needs greater investments in public transit.

Thank you for your support.

Speak Up for Public Transportation

-------- Original Message --------
Subject: Have You Told Your Friends to Speak Up?
From: Mantill Williams
To: tqnews@hotmail.com

Terry,

July 31 is the hard deadline. On that day, federal transportation funding runs dry.

The Highway Trust Fund’s Mass Transit Account is the primary source of funding for American public transportation. Without these dollars, even maintenance on buses and rail systems can be impacted. And we won’t see improvements and expansion.

We need a long-term solution—not another short-term, temporary fix.

Are your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers speaking out?

Please encourage them to take action.

We need as many voices as possible telling Congress that public transportation funding must be a top priority. Help us keep the pressure on so Congress realizes it’s unacceptable for them not to make a long-term investment in public transit this year.

Thank you,

Mantill Williams

Tell Congress: No More Short-term Fixes!

Terry,

On July 31, federal transportation funding runs dry, yet again. States and communities will be suspending highway and transportation projects if funding is not passed. Public transit, road, and bridge maintenance funds will fall short. Expanding and improving public transit would be off the table.

We need a long-term solution—not another short-term, temporary fix.

Write your Members of Congress today—EVEN IF YOU’VE ALREADY WRITTEN.

We know this is a challenging, sometimes aggravating process. But Congress is starting to get the message and will hopefully get down to the work of establishing real, long-term transportation funding. In the meantime, we can’t let them drop the ball on the July 31 deadline.

Please take action now.

Thank you,

Mantill Williams
