On this day in 1940, a group of French teenagers stumbled upon the Lascaux Cave, which contained a priceless brood of Paleolithic cave paintings. Since 1963, the cave has been closed to the public, but that doesn't mean you can't still appreciate the iconic scenes of hunts and animal chases depicted inside.
